the angry awakening one
Yes. The anger makes complete sense.
This is not coming out of nowhere.
For a long time, anger was not available to you. Not really. You were taught to be patient. To forgive. To check your heart when you felt it rising. To make your anger mean something about your character rather than something about what happened to you.
So instead you pushed it down. Smoothed it over. Made yourself softer and smaller and more palatable.
And now it is here.
Louder than you expected. Heavier. Harder to put back in the box it came from.
Part of you might be wondering if it is too much. If you have become someone who is just angry. If this is going to be your whole personality now.
It is not. And it is not too much.
Anger is your system starting to tell the truth again.
It lives where your boundaries live. It shows up where harm happened that was never named. It surfaces where your 'this was not okay' has been waiting, sometimes for decades, to finally be allowed to exist.
The goal is not to get rid of it. It is not to manage it into something more acceptable. It is to let it move through you in a way that does not consume you or spill onto everyone around you.
Anger is not the problem. It is the doorway. To your values, to your voice, to the parts of yourself that the system needed you to bury.
Try this today: Give the anger a container. Write it out. Say it out loud alone in your car. Move your body with it. Let it exist, fully, without immediately softening or explaining it. Notice what is underneath it when it finally gets space.
“I created the Sacred Anger Ritual specifically for this moment. A guided practice for moving anger through your body safely and with intention. And when you are ready for community and ongoing support, the Reclamation Space is where that work continues. CA$67/month, open now. ”
Hi there, I’m bre,
Your resident Religious Trauma Coach and Ex-Christian Cult Member.
When I left the Christian cult I grew up in, I had no plans to ever ascribe to any faith.
I never had my own personal spiritual connection to God - I was just trying to walk the straight and narrow line that I had been told was “THE WAY”.
I was able to begin healing through a lot of inner personal work on my own, through therapy and life coaches and by being committed to doing the work even when it was SUPER uncomfortable.
Doing so allowed me to reclaim my relationship with spirituality.
